Steam-Distillation is the only water treatment process that can provide true peace-of-mind.  Filters, including reverse osmosis systems, are barriers which "trap" the contaminants.       Barriers can clog, deteriorate, and leak and seals can fail resulting in a drop of effectiveness over time. With these systems you cannot be sure of the purity you are getting because you don't know where you are on their "deterioration curve".
